Well tonight marks the end of the 2010 College Football Season - I'm sure before long my husband will have a countdown with a constant reminder of how many months, days, hours etc until the first college game. I thought I would share a picture of Dani's first college football game which happened to be the FSU v South Carolina Bowl Game in Atlanta. We won! Go NOLES! (She was actually being shy in this picture)
Came across a blog that made me stop and think -- really think -- what all we can achieve in a year. A YEAR seems like such a long time to do things but then once life sets in (and sometimes gets in the way) how many times do we stop doing what we had "planned" on doing and just push our desires to the back burner? Well there is one guy out there that has set a goal to do 1000 things this year.... yep you read that right - 1000 things in 365 days. Check out his blog -- if for anything to have something to read -- but really I think it may INSPIRE you! What can you DO in a YEAR?
So what does it take to become a runner? I'm not really sure -- I grew up as a swimmer. And as a swimmer you realize you have a lot of time to yourself. And with all that time comes a lot of thinking. That is the thing I miss most about swimming - being able to get a good workout and think to myself for a couple hours each day. No phones to answer (we didn't have texting back then), no work to go to, no parents to answer to -- it was just you and the water. So that being said - I think that's why a lot of runners enjoy running is because every day for just a little while they are cut off from the world. And that's what I hope to get back to. Me time - time to think, make good decisions, and PLAN. And heck improve my way a life. I've decided to do the C25K program --a bit modified-- for my knee problems. I'll get there - I'm quite sure of that.... Will you be there for the journey?

New Year.....
New me! Right? Not so sure.
Can't believe it's been an entire 6 months since I last visited my blog. I guess you can say life happens! Or my like extensive treatment, vacations and the Holidays.
I was very blessed last year to travel so much. Especially when they were mainly FUN trips. Yes one was a business trip but I also mixed a bit of pleasure in with it. 2010 started out right with 2 trips in December the month before to NYC and Jacksonville for a college football bowl game. No trips for me until after busy season (I am a CPA) Cruise in May to Mexico, also in May they broke ground on the pool, September Texas for a week at the beach (ironic when we are known for the whitest sand around the works) with friends, Nobember back to Texas for a seminar but got to see great things and meet new people... One being Jamie Kennedy ;) back home for 2 weeks (if that) and back on another cruise - this time with my sister and we went to the Bahamas and went to a private convert on a private island. Say what? Yep and it was a free cruise!!! Nelly was the featured star at that concert. Back home again to ring in the new year in Atlanta!! Needless to say I was blessed last year. This year my travels may be more limited until treatment starts working better. Which really means when I can stop taking the Nasty stuff.
So stay tuned. It might not be A great ride but you can help me out along the way :)

Why do I think eventually my life will slow down? If anyone knows the answers to that question PLEASE let me know ASAP :)
Last Weeks Feature
I am so sorry for missing yet another feature week. A lot happened in a matter of a week - 2 surgeries and my grandfather passed away within a week. So here is my feature I meant to post LAST WEEK
Maria Bella Jewelry
Its really hard to say much about Jewelry - There are thousands of different types, pieces, designs, yada yada....
When someone says they have always been interested in creating beauty you sometimes wonder...but with MBJ you do not wonder long.... because it takes only a few seconds to see some of the beautiful pieces created.

UniqueDesignsbyMsP
Another great jewelry maker..... (I think I'm in the wrong craft) Anyone that can make great jewelry to wear with any outfit gets an A+ in my book. After browsing UDMsP, it only took me minutes to find MANY pieces I would love to have... Check them out.
Also look at these cute FINGERLESS GLOVES :)

Feature of the Week.
Alyssabeth’s Handcrafted Jewelry....where you will find hand crafted Collage and Altered Art Jewelry creations, along with Cottage Style Shabby Chic Vintage Flea Market Finds and re-purposed vintage and antique décor. The name Alyssabeth's comes from a combination of her name and her step daughters!! I love putting names together (hint my name DanDe)
Who knew you could make a button into a ring - much less a very cute ring.
And her pendants are to die for... So cute and the little charms add such a great extra touch - she goes beyond and above!
Take a few minutes to check out her blog and her etsy store.

I've been really busy....
I've been so busy this year after April 15th - its crazy!!!! Usually this is my time to take a break and regroup but not so much this year....
Besteam feature.
Empress Jade
Empress Jade has Cute, fun and affordable vintage women's party and day dresses, accessories and tons of fabulous vintage lingerie! Bombshell 50s, Mad Men 60s, Rich Hippie & Disco 70s, 80s New Wave. Classic to indie fashion. (shop announcement on Etsy)
I have to agree with everything in the announcement. What a great period to live in (50s-80s) -- Its fun stuff to wear - so why not try it! She has over 200 items for sale so I'm sure there is something for everyone!
There is one dress that I love (too bad I'm not considered small) --- As a girl growing up I would watch "Showboat" a movie about a lady that sang on a boat. There were many scenes with her wearing love gowns with sheer arms..... this dress totally reminds me of that movie (thanks for the smile - and reminder of something I haven't thought about in over 20 years)
The next item I found that I really liked was a nightgown!!! How come I don't even wear anything out during the day that is this nice? Some of the items found on Empress Jade's Etsy store just makes me smile. It brings back a lot of great memories growing up with a grandmother that wore things like this. Women 20+ years ago cared more about their appearances... some may think this is a bad thing but after looking at all the lovely things in EJ- Etsy store -- I'm thinking I would love to bring these items in my house so my daughter will have something to smile about in 20 years.

Besteam feature...
This week I am honored to feature... Just the Goods At first I had no clue what this little shop could be about - but after spending a few minutes reading their blog and going to their website - I learned A LOT! What great information and great tips... not only for your beauty and health but things we can use in our everyday lives.
I love how Just the Goods take normal everyday items and transfixes them into something healthy for us and our earth. Everything is considered from the idea of a product to shipping the product. And to use reusable items and for a buyer to be able to get a $1 credit towards their next purchase - why would anyone pass that up? Okay so you might be tired of my excitement of the recycled materials...so on to the GOODS ;)
I think my favorite choice is the gift baskets:
"All of our gift baskets are made to order and are customizable according to your interests, needs, and budget." Why not mix and match items? And who said you couldn't buy a gift for yourself ;)
BUT living in Florida and wearing flip flops year round -will cause you to have dry feet....so wouldn't it be nice to use their foot butter every day???
Another long day? Soothe your tired legs and feet with the refreshing tingle of peppermint and the warmth of ginger.
Generously apply this rich butter and feel it melt into a luxurious oil that penetrates your skin thanks to the perfect blend of cocoa and shea butter with grapeseed oil to tone and sweet almond oil to soften.
Put on a cozy pair of socks so this product can work its wonders overnight, but don't forget to wash your hands before you sleep because these invigorating oils might keep you awake ;-)
So take a few minutes and stop by --- treat yourself (so what if Mother's day is over with) ---

Last weeks feature...
One thing I am usually not is a slacker -- especially when it comes to someone else being left out. But I was this past week. I started getting sick on Sat May 8th - and just kept getting worse until last Friday I had to go have x-rays and blood work.... :( I am feeling much better now...
ANYWAY.....
I know I have featured this lovely blog before (here) but I didn't switch with someone so what the heck...why not feature them again ;)
Christine has a very cute blog! I love the owl..and the colors... her intro on her etsy page says it all.... "My lovely little shop has handmade jewelry that is flirty and fun. A little modern with a vintage feel. Leo & Junie jewelry features charms, gemstones, crystals, sterling silver, brass, vintage & vintage inspired pieces. Each piece is designed to tell a little something about the person who wears it. My jewelry designs are also inspired by nature, gardens, the ocean, butterflies, fairies, and whimsical things. I love finding one of a kind vintage beads and charms/pendants. I am always on the hunt for them!"
I went ahead and took a peak at her blog and found some great custom made items... can you say fabulous??? I'm not sure if these 2 pieces are necklaces or bracelets but either way they are fabulous.....

(Personal note: sorry Christine for the late post)

As many of you know this is my last full week at my "real" job. Next Friday I will return to being a WAHM! I am very excited about that.... Sorry it took a while to get this post up - but here it is!!
Phili 313
A newbie to the blog world. The blog's first post was just last week. So for now the blog is a work in progress. :) Which is fine....b/c the Etsy Store and the Store Website are enough for anyone to look at for now. Ava has been creating jewelry for the past 3 years. You wouldn't know that by looking at her items because they are so nice and intricate that it looks like shes been doing this her entire life. I really don't need to say much more because her items speak for themselves.... The necklace and ring below are my favorites. Go check them out!

Creative Sprinkle...
Meet Marie Young @ Creative Sprinkle
Marie is the proud artist of the collection below

I really can't say much about what she does because I do not quite understand how she makes such creative items. I CAN say she has some of the prettiest and most unique wedding toppers I have ever seen. Many brides today (and of past) wants that unique item for their wedding... well if you want something more traditional than I would say look elsewhere ---- BUT if you want a unique, ONE OF A KIND, individual item for one of the most spectacular days of your life... then you NEED to check out her blog and her store. That's all I'm saying. ;) And why not birthday parties and anniversary parties - why do cake toppers only need to go on WEDDING cakes.... They don't -- so go take a look and send her a message - she does do custom orders :)

Proud to showcase....
Fellow Blogger...
Her blogs title "everyday life :: mixed with inspiration + creativity" says it all.... Two of my favorite pieces

Take a few seconds to go check out her original art that she has turned into beautiful jewelry you can wear.

Leo and Junie
All I can say is "wow" what cute and spectacular pieces. Christine takes ordinary things (ie metal) and transforms them into a work of art! Not one thing on her blog or in her etsy store is short of amazing. With such beautiful items I do not know how she keeps things listed in her store. Her blogs title "everyday life :: mixed with inspiration + creativity" says it all.... Two of my favorite pieces
